Write about a subject you hate most. Explain why you loathe it.

It is hard for me to choose a subject that I hate most. However, if I must make a choice, I would put history in mind.

As you know, I am a foreign student, so it is difficult for me to learn the history of Singapore. Until now, I can only understand 30% of what the teacher said. Sometimes, the teacher teaches so fast (2 chapters a lesson) that I can not catch up. With little understanding, I need to go through every word in the text book and recite almost part of the knowledge that I think is important. From the first term, I know that reciting is not enough, as I only got 16 marks of total of 35.

Later I found out that I need to know how to write my own idea in the questions. It is not easy for me to do so now as my English is poor. Hence, I ask my cousin to teach me how to write so that I could quickly improve.

In Shanghai, we learn the history of China, and the teacher talked to us in Chinese. Therefore, it seemed easy for me to understand. I think that if the history is about your own country, it is easier to learn. Maybe I need to improve my learning method to let me get high marks.

So, that is why I hate history most. But “hate” does not mean you do not need to study.
I hope I can improve history next term.
